Notion – Menderes, İzmir
Notion is the port city of Colophon, located on the Ahmetbeyli coast. It is also known as "Colophon by the Sea." It is very close to the Claros Oracle Center.
The city is built on two hills and commands a view of the sea. Its walls are remarkably well-preserved.
Highlights:
- Temple of Athena Polias: A temple overlooking the sea on the western hill of the acropolis.
- Bouleuterion (Council House): A meeting structure from the Hellenistic period.
- Theatre: A theatre renovated during the Roman period.
- Walls: Hellenistic city walls surrounding the site.
