Priene – Güllübahçe, Aydın

Priene is a pristine example of Hippodamian grid planning on the slopes of Mount Mycale. The city features the Temple of Athena Polias (designed by Pytheos, an architect of the Mausoleum), theater, bouleuterion, agora, prytaneion, gymnasia, houses with peristyle courts, and city walls with bastions. Terracing adapts the plan to the hillside, offering a textbook case of Hellenistic urbanism in Ionia.
