Kibyra – Gölhisar, Burdur
Kibyra in the Pisidia–Lycia borderlands flourished under Rome with a mixed Lydian, Pisidian, and Lycian population. The city features a stadium famed for gladiator/animal fights, an odeon/theater with a medusa-headed orchestra mosaic, agora, bath–gymnasium, temples, and aqueducts. Earthquakes led to rebuilds; inscriptions mention a “Tetrapolis” league. The site’s scale and preservation make it a major inland Anatolian cityscape.
