Telmessos – Fethiye, Muğla

Telmessos is one of the largest and most important cities of Lycia, located beneath the modern town center of Fethiye. It was known as the "City of Oracles."

Although intertwined with the modern settlement, the rock tombs and theatre, which have become symbols of the city, are still standing.

Highlights:

  • Tomb of Amyntas: A monumental rock tomb dating to the 4th century BC with an Ionic temple facade, the symbol of Fethiye.
  • Ancient Theatre: A restored Roman theatre located just behind the harbor.
  • Sarcophagi: Lycian-type sarcophagi visible in the city center, streets, and parks.
