Patara – Gelemiş, Antalya
Patara, a major Lycian port near Gelemiş, features a harbor (now silted), Lighthouse, bouleuterion/assembly hall, theater, main street with monumental gate, granaries (Hadrian/Trajan), and Roman baths. It was the birthplace of St. Nicholas (traditionally) and seat of the Lycian League’s assembly. Patara’s dunes and wetland ecology add to its historical harbor story.
