Antiphellus is the ancient Lycian city lying beneath the modern town of Kaş. Originally the port of Phellus, it grew in the Hellenistic period to become more important than the main city.

The ruins intertwined with the modern texture of Kaş give the town a unique atmosphere.

Highlights:

  • Ancient Theatre: Facing the sea, it is one of the theatres with the most beautiful views in Anatolia. It has no stage building, looking directly out to sea.
  • King's Tomb (Lion Sarcophagus): A magnificent Lycian sarcophagus adorned with lion head projections, located at the end of Uzun Çarşı in the Kaş market.
  • Akdam Doric Tomb: A rock-cut monumental tomb with a Doric facade.
